You can always see it comin'

FINALLY A SEMESTER IS DONE.

I did my English Provincial yesterday (and I should have done the Lit Provincial but I opted out... silly me) and now my first semester is OFFICIALLY over. Now, my last semester of high school awaits, which is pretty sad when I get to thinking about it, but I'm also super excited at the same time. So many new things to do and all of these great, easy classes! I'm gonna be on cruise control starting Monday till my last school day B) Ooooh yeah.

I had been thinking for so long to write a post with few words, just talking about how I can't actually blog because I have to study for exams but I was too lazy to and obviously if I'm typing on here I'm not studying, so I just didn't. Well, come to think of it, I didn't really study either, just tied up loose ends in all of my classes and BAM, I finished before I knew it. Maaan this semester went by super super super fast. When Grad's over and done with, I'm gonna be wishing for all of this back, I really know it.

Grad write-ups were due, hmmm, two days ago? Three days ago now, I think. But anyway, I submitted mine weeks earlier and it actually wasn't that difficult to do. We were only given 250 characters to write with, can you believe it? But I managed it and I'm quite content with it! So here it is, peepzzzz, it's hella short.

All my love and thanks is for my amazing family: Mom, Dad, Ate, Genina, Grandma and Grandpa. To my best friends, I love you guys. And to God, for without Him I am nothing. Mark 10:27. I'll really miss this place. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood…

Seriously though, I want to really change that last quote. I was so happy with it, because I imagined that if I ever had to write a speech about my life in high school, I'd use that quote from Robert Frost. It's brilliant right? "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I - I took the path less travelled by, and that has made all the difference." From Frost's awesome poem The Road Not Taken. But after English class and Blessin pounding quotes from Shakespeare I wish I could've changed it to "Our revels now are ended...." Ugh. It's awesome. It. Is. AWESOME. I think I might actually talk to some of the yearbook people and ask them if I can please change it to that!! YESSS I THINK I WILL DO THAT INDEED.

Sooooooo, not counting the marks that Ms Cepus has not put onto the computer and not counting the English Provincial mark since it hasn't been entered either yet (not until March anyway!), these are how my grades stand:

LIT - 93%
LAW - 91%
ENG - 94%

The Lord must really love me <3 Because those are great grades to me! And my Mom's happy with them. I hope the marks that haven't been entered yet only upgrade them, not bring them down. If they do........ well. Just imagine what I'd do with a rope laying around, HAHA.

I'm waiting on SFU to please hurry up and offer me SOMETHING. It doesn't have to be an early offer of admission. Although that's what I'm praying for. But I'm just bored waiting for them, not even knowing if I'm accepted yet, have won any of the scholarships I've applied for, or whatever else there is :( Which reminds me, I went down to SFU on Friday to drop off my application for the SFU Surrey Entrance Award - it's only for 2000 dollars and I get more from an automatic entrance award for getting 90% or above in my provincial courses ($3500), but it's safe to have a back up if for some reason I don't get the 3500 - and I'm hoping to God I get it. Even though, according to SFU, if they offer you more than one scholarship, you can only receive the higher one, I'd still like to one for the sake of winning and ya know, having bragging rights. My Momma would be so proud too. Yeeeeah baybeh.

So I'm watching Elizabeth: The Golden Age right now........ pretty pro movie. "ELIZABETH!!! WHOOOOOORE." That's the part I'm at right now. And then she turns around in her white, pure gown, holds her hands out like she's in surrender.......... and then BAM! THE ASSASIN PULLS THE TRIGGER! WOOOOOOOOOWZER. Yeah, that's right, I just described that scene moment by moment, ya know. And then the scene ends with the man being dragged away by Elizabeth's men and Elizabeth staggering...... aerial view of the cathedral........ yap. There you have it. DOES SHE SURVIVE? OOOOH WELL YOU'LL HAVE TO WATCH THE MOVIE FOR YOURSELF. Or in fact, read a few Elizabeth themed books. OR do your own research. The Elizabethan era was da bomb. Tudor England was da bomb. Anne BO-FREAKING-LEYN was da bomb. For those of you who are unaware of who this is, Anne Boleyn is Henry the 8th's SECOND AND BEST AND MOST AWESOME WIFE. Remember, this is the fat ginger who had six wives? I know. Whatta player eh?

AIIGHTS. I'm outties. I gotta keep on watching this movie, ya know. I own it and everything but it's so much better when you catch randomly on tv B)

Catch ya later, crocodile.... alligator.... swamp monster. Whatever you would like to be, my friend, take your pick.

Don't you just love goodbyes?

Just a note, but Genina gave me this book for Chritsmas called "Audrey, Wait!" and it's a book I've been wanting to read since I got this promo CD for it in like, Grade 10. It has a bunch of awesome quotes from these rock/alternative songs before every chapter starts, so I thought I'd use them as the titles for my future posts, until all 41 chapters end! FYI, I finished the book like two hours ago, and it was actually pretty good. Hilarious to say the last, but definitely good and something I'd re-read during boring times. And as you can see, the very first quote to start off the very first chapter in the book was "Don't you just love goodbyes?" written by Mew, in this song called "156." Yahootie!

So, of course, HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :) I really hope it was amazing for you all. I know had some great family moments and I'm thankful for them, and I hope 2010 will go just as smoothly as 2009 did. This is my - I mean - OUR graduating year (yes, you!) so we better make it or break it Grads of 2010! And I effing mean it!

Just a slew of late Happy Birthdays to my besterest friends, BARKHA AND AMAJYOOOOOT, lave you guys. Spent too much of my break using my debit just to pay for their presents, dinners, karaoke rooms and movie tickets. Duuuude I'm so low in my bank right now, not even kidding. But at least I'm cashing it in once in a while at tutoring... woohoo!! This will be one good reason for school to return! I get my job back!!

So yeah, speaking of school, like I said in an earlier post, I only got English homework, and that was to write a paragraph as to why I chose whatever book I chose for my Winter Reading Assignment, and then read that book before break ended. And then a few Lit Grids but basically that's the bulk of it, and it was pretty easy... I knew I could finish the book, it would just take me some time. As for the paragraph and Lit Grids that I still haven't done, well, those should be easy peasy and I SWEAR I'LL DO THAT TOMORROW. I am NOT doing them in m spare, on the first day back at school... yeah right! I'm gonna chow down at 711, as is the usual these days at school. What!? I can't help that it's a five minute walk and every piece of candy there is uber cheap. I gotta cash in on that one.

Congratulations to me, for I FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY. APPLIED. TO SIMON FRASER. I've been talking about it for months, telling myself I wouldn't want until the end of December, telling myself I would do it well before Feb 28th, the deadline to be accepted into the Fall Semester, but lookie. I waited. I waited and waited and waited, and while I do feel a bit behind everybody else in this whole "applying to university business," at least I know I've applied, paid the application fee and now must self-report my grades in the hopes of an early offer to be accepted, and I can be... almost done with it. I still dunno which path to follow in terms of courses, the only thing I know is that for sure I want whatever I do to be under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Go me for figuring that one, simple thing out only :P

ANYBODOY WANNA KNOW WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS? Okay!! BWHAAHA. I almost forgot to write about it, but lookie, I didn't! Suckers!! So I shall list them in the most organized way I can, but I might get so excited describing what I got, it might just get messy, so I apologize beforehand!

I opened presents from friends first, and this is what I got from them:

- Vanilla body lotion, moisturizer and perfume, HELLO KITTY STICKERS, and this pouch of bath soap and cinnamon flavoured chapstick from MON AMAZING AMIE, Amanjyot!! <333

- POST-ITS and this book I really wanted the minute I saw it called The Valley of Secrets!! From the bestersEt friend ever Kimberly Martinezzzzzzz! Be jealous dudes. With those post-its, every book I own from now own will be the most noted one you'll ever see.

- Reader's Digest, which actually has a lot of great, condensed short stories in there that really interest me! From this loser I'm sadly friends with. HAHA, KIDDING.

(Everything else after this is are presents from family!)

- New earphones, since I lost my black ones some time ago, which forced me to stop listening to my iPod :( But these ones are white and have those padded white things to make my ears more comfortable, yahootie!!

- MULTICOLOURED, THICK SHARPIES. Twelve of them in a pack, to be exact! I've always wanted them 'cause somehow I find that I always need them for school projects and never have them when I need them to just be creative. THIS will make my life much easier!! Plus I'm sure I can use it for my own creative purposes!

- A NEW WALLET. I PROMISE not to lose this one. I really, really, really am guarded about things like that now, and because this one is JUST AS BEAUTIFUL if not MORE beautiful than my lost Coach wallet, I will be extra careful with it!

- This book called "Audrey, Wait!" which I already talked a bit about. I finished it in a day and it's aaaaawesomely funny, and now I have a bunch of great lyrics I can now use for my blog posts! Yahootie!

- A MIND-STIMULATING BOARD GAME, FOR FREAKING FINALLY. It's Trivial Pursuit, the 25th Anniversary Edition, and it's really colourful and difficutl! :P HAHA. I tried reading the instructions on how to play, and it's actually pretty difficult, but I'm determined to finally play a game that tests my trivial knowledge! THEY HAVE ALL THESE GREAT, BUT DIFFICULT QUESTION CATEGORIES TOO. It'd be a miracle if I actually got more than one right :P HAHA.

...........

And yes. I'm PRETTY sure that that is all I got for Christmas this year! Woot woot! Not a bad take! Soooo grateful for everything and very happy with everything I got! God be praised mes amis! God be uber praised!

Alrighty, I'm out. I'm totally gonna start on that book tonight, The Valley of Secrets. I'm soooooo on a book high. After finishing The Book of Negroes for my independent novel study (also an AMAZING BOOK, no lie, no lie) and Audrey, Wait! I'm on the biggest streak. Can't stop reading now!! Woooooooooooohoo! :) :) :)

Bye-bye! Goodluck on Monday when we get back to school everybody! FIX YOUR SLEEP PATTERNS NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE, AND FINISH ALL OF YOUR HOMEWORK :) And goodluck in 2010!

-G, baby.
