I Believe

I know I said that I would title my posts using the chapter titles from my book Audrey, Wait! but I had to desist for this one post because the WINTER OLYMPICS are here, and it seemed right to use the main lyric from the Canadian Olympic theme song! As I write this, I'm watching Canadian men receive the Gold Medal for PURSUIT! It's some skating thing that's too hard to explain, haha!

The Olympics are almost gone (it's here for today and tomorrow is the Closing Ceremony) but boy has it been a BLAST. The Opening Ceremonies were pretty good, nice, exciting and uber creative, I'd have killed to be there! And right now, though we're in third for the Medal Count, we are in FIRST for the MOST GOLD MEDALS! :D In fact, today we won two golds in ten minutes! How crazy is that!? Man, Canada is awesome.

Last Sunday I went with my family to explore downtown and we went practically everywhere. We took pictures with a lot of street acts, watched an important hockey game with the USA at the Marina Side on the patio of the Hurricane Grill and also at the corner of Robston St., and even though we lost we still cheered like CRAZY, and we're having our rematch for the GOLD tomorrow! REDEMPTION I TELL YOU, REDEMPTION! :D

Yesterday at school was Olympic Day as well as Spring Photo day for the spring teams and others clubs, and it was awesome that I was wearing my Canadian jersey for Olympic day in all the clubs I was in. AND IT WAS HY-LARIOUS. KIM, GENINA AND I TOTALLY MANAGED TO SNEAK IN TO THE TRACK AND FIELD TEAM PHOTO! HAHA. You would be TOTALLY surprised with how far high fiving the actual team members can get you into the photo! Like, IN THE CENTRE, HOLDING THE CANADIAN FLAG ;) I almost feel bad for being in that photo but it was too epic to not find amazing man. And then I was in the Grad Council photo, KIVA photo (a charity thing), and After School Tutoring Program photo, ALL IN MY CANADIAN JERSEY. Oh yeah, I'm proud. B).

Afterwards I went to Amanjyot's house, watched the game against Slovakia and almost had a heart attack when they almost caught up to us in that last period. Thank God we won and thank God we have another chance at another gold!! I HOPE WE WIN SO BAD.

As for this new semester, I've never been so lazy in my life. Wait, I should re-phrase that: my first semester was practically never ending writing and hard work and although I am still working this semester, it's never been so moderately done before! Like, I'm cruiiiisinnnn. I'm kinda shocked by it, and insecure about how easy things are, it's almost like it's too good to be true! But I'm still getting the grades I need (except in History, I need like, one more percent to get the grade I'm usually happy with) with the way I've been working. It's weird. I don't know, hahaha! But I guess this is good, it's my last semester of high school EVER and I should be spending it the way I've been spending it - with mes amis, having good old times, oui? Yeaaaah!!

And oh yeah, I recently just got a Vietnamese exchange student - she's quite pretty!! We have her for three months or something like that, and I think she's really nice :)

Shoutout to Joannie Rochette, a female skater in the Olympics who totally skated the skate of her life in the face of a hardcore tragedy <3 GOOD FOR YOU JOANNIE!

Another shoutout to the Women's Hockey team who won their third straight Gold Medal in a row!! You ladies dominated!

AND BASICALLY A SHOUTOUT TO EVERYONE WHO'S WON A MEDAL AT ALL DURING THESE OLYMPICS, and to the amazing town I live in VANCOUVER! Wooooot :D Anyway I have to start doing some real homework, seeeya everyone!

Yours,
Gelina :D
