Started shakin' to that fine music

Hola me amigos!

Right now it's Sunday, but for the past few days it's been Holy Week, so I'll just say Thank You Lord for everything You've done, I praise You and I will love You forever! Amen :D Always gotta say my thanks to the Big Guy before I go off on my rants, you know!

Today (technically yesterday but who cares) was a hardcore homework day. I have so much History homework that has piled on, I couldn't be more thankful for the four day weekend that I'm now taking advantage of! Since I was at Church for nearly FOUR hours on Thursday, I couldn't start my homework right away and get a head start since I came home 9ish. I took a shower, laptop and tv, and saved myself a few good hours before I'd have to really cram my piled on homework!

I did my Film Studies homework on Friday, which as always, consisted of Director's Notes. And since mine are always SOOOO super long compared to the average length that people usually do, it took me FOREVER. I kept getting distracted by the tv too, so when I finally decided to shut it off is when I started getting stuff accomplished :P I think my Director's Notes on the film East is East (SUPER GOOD MOVIE BTW) is the second longest I've done so far.... first is V for Vendetta. Blech. Didn't like that one.

So today (yeah, yeah, technically yesterday) I worked through 50/74 note cards for History, which takes a surprisingly long amount of time! Do not be fooled my friends. Then there's the blue package of all the important World War II events we had to complete which I also finished and also takes a surprisingly long amount of time! Like, it was night by the time I got through everything. So now tomorrow (technically today) I shall work on the movie review for Movie project! Hopefully I can find Pearl Harbour somewhere in movie collection, 'cause that's the movie I picked. But hopefully I won't have to watch it either! Goodness knows I don't have any time for that.

Now for the BEST NEWS YET! :)

I think on Tuesday, I found out that I was accepted to Simon Fraser! YAHOOO! I felt practically like the only person in the entire world that hasn't had news from a university they applied to, so when I checked my account and saw that checkmark saying I was admitted I was obviously very psyched! BUT THE NEWS DOESN'T STOP THERE!!!! :)

A few days later, this day was for sure a Thursday 'cause I can still remember it clearly, I got the hard evidence of my conditional acceptance to SFU in the form of a large envelope! I tore it open, and didn't even read the entire letter when I saw the capital letters saying something along the lines of this: "Along with our offer of admission we are offering THE B.C. SECONDARY SCHOOL SUMMIT ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP." Can you believe it!!!! THAT WAS THE SCHOLARSHIP I'D BEEN AIMING FOR ALL YEAR! It's the whole reason I got 90% and above in all of my classes!!!! AND I FINALLY GOT IT! I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF I CAN HARDLY STAND IT. Now I don't have to worry for a while and neither does my Mom! Woot. I ran around the whole house screaming and called everyone worth calling and bragging to, hahaha. Sorry to those people who got such a mouthful of awesomeness from me, HAHA.

Anyway, I haven't accepted the scholarship offer or the admission offer yet either, but I will soon once I pay that 250 dollar fee. Which is coming straight from my bank. Sigh. I'll be broke before I even start university huh? Well, taking 250 out of my pocket won't make me broke but it'll make me more tight on spending which is poo poo enough! Oh well though. I AM NOW THE RECIPIENT OF A SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WHICH MAKES ME COOLER THAN YOU, SO HA! :) (But if you're reading this then you're pretty awesome in your own right.)

So, admittedly mes amies, je suis grounded. Apparently I've been going out too much and so until quite some time (or until my parents forget) I shall be under house arrest. Er... except not so strict. HAHA. 'Cause I came home past 12 a few times :( And suddenly I'm grounded. Well poo. Now I must pay the consequences :'( At least I now have a reason to say No to stuff I don't wanna go to! And won't feel guilty 'cause I'd be telling the truth. So yes my friends, there is an upside to being grounded.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT! I can't believe I just remembered it. Wednesday night was the day of the Talent Show!!! In which my own lovely twin sister forcibly participated in (hehe) with our best friend's boyfriend, none other than Sir Donald! This talent show is one of the many reasons why I've spent numerous times managing Donald and Genina after school during practices, and also why I freaking got home super late from Donald's house, hence being one of the reasons why I was grounded!!! Pshaw. Anyway, even though they didn't win the Talent Show, they were AWESOME. Like beyond awesome. The judges did agree my friends. Mr. Ritchie (the musical director at our school) told Genina to see him after school one of these days 'cause she's got MAD SKILLZZZZZ. Which is so true. She's awesome enough for me to have bought her flowers, make her posters, scream my butt off and practically lose my voice over. So she better have appreciated that. The witch. (Oh, I did get Donald beef jerky so it wasn't completely one sided... :D) LOOK AT GENINA'S FB PICTURES IF YOU HAVE HER AS A FRIEND, SHE WAS SO PRO THAT NIGHT. Donald too. HAHA. Yeah, anyway.

Scholarship Luncheon was a while ago btw. Like 41 something students were invited to spend lunch together just so the administration could talk about how awesome/hard working we are, which was nice. They fed us the school's pasta which was deelish, and the whole salad and dessert thang. It was so nice of them. I mean, I didn't really see why they had to honour us in such a random way but I think it was great because I got to miss some of my tutoring period plus I got caf food that I didn't have to pay for 8) And they said nice stuff about us which really we didn't even deserve, it's our job to work hard in Grade 12. Anyway, that was still really nice of the administration and I appreciate the recognition! Hahaha.

Can I just say, in my Film Studies class, we have been watching some of the BEST movies... the latest have been Great Debaters and East is East, which are suiting for out unit, Identity. Omg, watch East is East if you come from an immigrant family. You'll see your own family in the screen dudes, not even kidding. I was like Daaang that's my own fam except not really... HAHA. BUT STILL IT'S REALLY GOOD :) I should make a suggestion list from all the films I've watched in that class so far. Meh. Maybe later, when I'm not lazy to look back, hahahaha.

I have nothing else to rant about I think. Besides school, my tutoring job, planning/helping out at Grad events, and preparing for Grad in general, I have almost less time to update this than I did before, and that's like, A LOT less time. I really do wish that I did update this more often, even if it means small, random updates that people don't really understand. That'd be cool and at least I update this poor thing. Do I neglect you too much, oh Blog? Sorry :( I'd suck at having a pet.... hahaha.

Anyway, I'm off. Have to clean up in the living room since all my papers and homework are scattered everywhere and Genina will yell at me if I don't. (There is not a single day when she does not yell at me, I swear.... HAHA)

Seee y'all later, you lazy alligators!

Yours truly,
Gelina, who is currently SFU bound in the Fall and the recipient of the B.C. Secondary School Summit Entrance Scholarship valued at a sizeable amount of money :) WOOOHOOO! (That's right, I'm still on a high, hahaha. Sucka, put up with me or go away!) PEACE.
