Forever yours, faithfully
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I'm so lame, I never update this except for once a month. I should be better to this but really who cares -.- LOL.
Alright, so as you all know, the current month is SEPTEMBER, which means BACK TO SCHOOOOL. WOOO. Yeah, I'm super late on this back to school stuff but at least I'm mentioning it now. It's been a tough transition from high school to university but I'm honestly so glad I went to my two day Orientation - I met the cooolest people there that I actually have in some of my classes, some people who I can't go a day without texting now. It's just comforting to know that I've made friends in university and that I'm surviving it so far :) If I weren't, I might be a big pile of depression right now, but thankfully I'm not. I'm also extremely glad of the fact that my Passport to Education + the first installation of my $3500 scholarship (1750) completely paid for my first semester and SHOULD pay for my second semester as well, as long as I maintain a 3.0 GPA (cross your fingers and pray for me). That way my parents didn't have to sweat it out so much, considering 2,145.54 is a LOT of money to pay for four months of school... but I still had to pay for my textbooks but I guess compared to other people, mine wasn't half as bad - I paid a little over 300 dollars for everything 'cause nearly all of my books were used! Can't wait for buy-back and I can get some of my monieeeees back!
Univeristy homework makes high school homework look like a cake walk, btw. I've never seen so much reading in my life, and I've never been so unwilling to read ever. I've said it MANY times, that reading is the easiest and most welcoming form of homework I'll ever have, but not anymore. I'd rather write a short paragraph or something else rather than do all of this reading. I mean, it's INTENSE. Half of the time I don't understand what's going on, and I often need to re-read which is kind of a waste of time, but that's one of the sacrifices I've got to make I suppose :(
I think my favourite class of the semester has got to be Explorations 120, Exploring Society. We've just finished reading Antigone and now we're supposed to read the first paragraph of an essay we'll have to write later. I was ABSOLUTELY frightened at the prospect of writing my first paper but thanks to my Prof who sort of guided us through structuring our intro paragraphs (the most important paragraph of an essay), I don't feel as scared. I know, of course, I'll probably write a terrible first paper but maybe it won't be AS bad as I originally thought it would be!
Did I mention Glee premiered tonight? Yeah, Season 2 baby! And okay - Sunshine Corazon, I love your voice because there's no denying you're a great singer but jeeeez! Could you try any harder to be a good actress, or fit in with north American styles of acting? It's really uncomfortable to watch. And you should stop with those hand gestures when you sing as well, sweetheart. Weeeeird.
Btw, since I'm talking about tv shows, I should really mention that I'm loving Vampire Diaries and Hellcats. Ummmmm, for many reasons I'm too lazy to explain, I must advocate the boycotting of One Tree Hill. Yes, I know, a HUUUUUGE surprise coming from a former hardcore fan that mailed the director and creatore of the show (Mark Schwahn) like, 8 letters in the hopes of convincing him to keep Brooke and Lucas together, and spent a good year of her life on internet forums debating against STUPID LUCAS/PEYTON FANS, but things change my friends. And you find things out and you just come to realize the show you once loved is a shell of what it once used to be :( Yeah I feel pretty hardcore about OTH my friends. More hardcore than YOU'LL ever be, trust me, even though I've been boycotting the show since Season 6.
Okay, I'm done, LOL. So much ranting and talking about nothing. But let's just say I'm enjoying and experimenting in this month of September, still definitely trying to get the feel of university life, but rest assured that it is currently smooth sailing. I hope things are going well for you as well. If not, seriously - university life is what you make it!!! So make an effort to be outgoing, join clubs, or just talk to classmates during lectures and make friends :) Life is better when you get to know people.
Good day to you my friend.
And oh yes, as I promised: update is dedicated to a Sir David Cordoviz, who so graciously reminded me that I had not yet updated my blog for the month of September :P I hope you're happy mister!
Keep on keeeeeeepin' on,
Gelina.
