I see sunset in your eyes

OKAY. Instant replay of the latest haps for ya:

So yesterday night, the snow started falling like dandruff. It was just the worst. And of course, this started the endless debate about school being open or not. But, being realistic, I go to a school where until three years ago, it hadn't had a snow day for SEVENTEEN YEARS. I mean, that is a LONG time. Guildford Park and the School Board are sooo stubborn, and never ever shuts down school, but then again you never know. So, I resolved myself to wake up early in the morning to check all the News websites and the radio to see if our school was given a Snow Day.

It was 5:45 and only Post Secondary Campuses and Public schools in Pitt Meadows, Abbotsford, and Maple Ridge were closed, and by 6:45, it was still the same. I called my classmates to ask if they were going and they were. So I got dressed and dredged my butt off to school.

Figures, when we get there, we find out that JH got shut down. Which is complete and UTTER bull. If JH is closed, GP should have been closed too... it's a PACKAGE DEAL. We're in the same district! So 1/4 of the school is already there, and in the middle of our first block the announcements come on and tell us that school's been shut down for the day... WAY TO GIVE US SUPER LATE NOTICE. I have NEVER been so unimpressed since arriving at GP. Our School Board is SO stubborn - just because it's PUBLIC school and majority of the students that go there are within the catchment (however I'm not), it doesn't mean we're ALL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE SCHOOL AND CAN GET THERE IN 15 MINUTES OR LESS. So to the Surrey District 36 School Board, here is a big SCREEEEEEEEEEW YOU!

SO yeah, I am mad. So much for a first day back from Winter Break. My cell ringing off the hook with people asking me if I'm going to school or not, if school is even open, if the roads suck - and like 15 staff showing up out of like 50. Goodness, OUR DISTRICT IS SO STUBBORN. AGH.

There better be school tomorrow. I can't afford to miss a day worth of studying for my Math and Bio exam. UGH.

I'll save the world when the snow is all gone and melted and evaporated. Promise.
Gooodbyeeeeeeeeeee, Gelina
